Safety Audit for Green Bay Ave
Learn some civic engagement skills over two 60-90 minute sessions, by observing street and sidewalk conditions, recording them, and having hands held while sharing observations with decision-makers.
When? Walk audit on Sat 11/1 and follow-up on Sat 11/08, 12:30-2:00pm.
Who? 9 Teen Greenhouse apprentices, plus open 8 slots for grandparents or greenhouse customers
What?
-Day 1, we do 30 minutes of gathering+instruction then 30 minutes of debriefing.
-Day 2, it's 30 minutes of learning to contact their alders/supervisors/state-reps and also assigning buddies for continuing action, then 60 minutes of assembling their own benches (with supervision). Some Apprentices might choose a Walk Audit Toolkit -inspired project to do their end-of-year presentation on.

Hot Sauce Workshop
Make Your Own Hot Sauce Workshop at Weber’s Greenhouse:
Turn up the heat with our Teens Grow Greens apprentices at this fiery and flavorful workshop! You’ll learn how to craft your very own hot sauce from scratch using fresh ingredients, explore different flavor combinations, and customize the spice level to your liking.
Guided by our teen apprentices, you’ll leave with a bottle of homemade hot sauce and the skills to recreate it at home. Whether you like it mild or blazing hot, this workshop is the perfect way to experiment with bold flavors, support local youth leaders, and take home something deliciously unique.

Plant Funeral
Say goodbye to your dearly departed houseplants at our first-ever Communal Plant Funeral - a lighthearted tribute to all the green friends we couldn’t keep alive.

Lay your plant to rest in our communal compost pile

Pickling Workshop
Join us for a hands-on pickling workshop led by the Teens Grow Greens apprentices! In this fun and interactive session, you’ll learn the basics of pickling fresh produce—perfect for preserving your garden harvest and adding a tasty kick to your meals.
Participants will get step-by-step guidance from our teen apprentices, discover simple pickling recipes, and take home their own jar of freshly pickled vegetables. Whether you’re brand new to pickling or looking to sharpen your skills, this workshop is a great way to connect with your food, support local youth leaders, and leave with something delicious.
Harvest Swap
Celebrate the season of abundance with us at our Harvest Swap!
Bring your extra garden harvest- fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers, and more - and share with others in the community. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just love fresh produce, everyone is welcome!

Cyanotype Workshop
Join us for a hands-on cyanotype workshop at the beautiful Webers Greenhouse! In this creative session designed for high school students, you’ll explore one of the oldest photographic printing processes—cyanotype—using natural sunlight and botanical materials to create your own stunning blue-and-white prints.
Surrounded by vibrant plants and flowers, you'll learn the basics of cyanotype chemistry, experiment with composition using leaves and flowers, and leave with your own unique artwork.
No experience necessary – just bring your creativity! All materials will be provided.

Dried Floral Wreath Workshop with Aromatic Acres
Join us for a fall floral workshop with Aromatic Acres to create your own everlasting wreath.
Participants will leave with a handmade 10’’ wreath made with dried flowers homegrown by the lovely folks at Aromatic Acres. All supplies and instruction to be provided.

Open Mic
Join us on Wednesday, June 19th for a powerful evening of spoken word, music, and community in honor of Juneteenth at Webers.
We’re opening the mic to voices of all ages to share poems, songs, stories, and reflections. Whether you’re performing or just coming to listen and support, we welcome you with open arms and open hearts.
Light snacks will be provided, but no alcohol will be permitted. Soak in the energy of the greenhouse, and be part of a space where creativity and community bloom.

Sunseeker Presents: Returning to each other
The last Sunseeker installment at Webers will teach you how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.
Following the training we will talk about how we use these tools to "return" to each other and exist in communities of care, love and sovereignty.

Using poetry that explores themes such as social justice, womanism, and love, participants will learn about the significant & complex relationships between Black and Brown communities and Mother Nature.
Additionally, poets will create eco-poems to reclaim the joy and power in writing about flowers, even in our current political climate

Sunseeker presents: Keeping Each Other Safe (part 3)
Stop the bleed!
The next event in the four part "Beloved Community" series will be a training on preventable deaths from trauma. Sunseeker comrades provide training, equipment, and resources to individuals and communities to promote public knowledge and skills in addressing uncontrolled bleeding, a significant factor in preventable deaths from trauma. We'll have training Tourniquets to the first 5 Black community members that RSVP and show up to Webers!
